BSSR Resources, Methods, and Measures

New data, new analytical methods, focus on prediction

Privacy of individual patient data need not be sacrificed in order to build comprehensive, accessible databases. SAMHSA is an example. Having "too much data" and "too many variables" are not problematic for data science and machine learning to distill the true drivers of behavioral disorders. What is needed most of all are time series data on individual patients that document medication assisted therapy, talk and rehabilitation therapy, and, of course, relapses and/or periods of enduring remission. Finally, the estimated probability of near-term remission/relapse provides early warning alerts to enable (perhaps life-saving) interventions.
